Community Greening Program, Royal Rehabilitation Centre, Sydney
June 24, 2010
The Community Greening Program was selected by the JBWere volunteers because the project would provide immediate benefits to the clients at the Rehabilitation Centre.
The transformation of weedy and tired looking gardens, with fresh soil and new plants provides a more pleasant and interesting environment for the patients.
The on-going care of the gardens becomes an activity for the patients to engage in with their Recreational Therapists.
The Royal Rehabilitation Centre at Ryde provides care for Brain and Spinal patients following serious injury or disabling illness.
The gardening programs can be supported and maintained through Royal Rehab's Community Relations Manager, Jim Towers 02 9808 9268, jim.towers@royalrehab.com.au
