Oasis Horticulture works towards Community Greening

Community Greening is an initiative of the Botanic Gardens Trust (BGT) and Housing NSW (HNSW) that promotes communal gardening within communities in need that makes a significant contribution towards improved social cohesion, crime reduction and public health in more than 200 communities in urban and regional NSW. The program builds participant's understanding of plants and the environment and fosters the development of good relations between public housing residents and their local community.

The Community Greening program provides advice, technical expertise, education, training, guidance and supply plant and landscaping materials when available. Oasis Horticulture’s Springwood branch has been supporting the Community Greening program with weekly deliveries of seedlings since 2008.
