Rhubarb is a nutritious perennial herb with stout edible stems which may be stewed for desserts.

  • Growing Tip: Cut off flower stems to encourage stem and leaf development. Harvest outer stalks as they mature. Leaves are toxic.
  • Position: Full sun
  • Height / Spacing: 80-100cm apart.
  • Lifespan: Perennial
  • Planting Time: Spring, Summer (Sept-Dec)
  • Harvest: Good stalk yields occur in the second year.
